Your family's data. Yours.
How Haevn approaches privacy, the UK Children's Code, and the trust your household places in us.
Our position, in plain English
Haevn is built for UK households. Many of those households include children. That makes Haevn an "information society service likely to be accessed by children" under the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, also known as the Children's Code. We have designed Haevn to meet the 15 standards of that Code from day one.
Default settings for child profiles
| Setting | Default |
|---|---|
| Profile visibility | Private |
| Geolocation sharing | Off |
| Profiling | Off |
| Marketing communications | Off |
| Data sharing with third parties | Off (we do not share) |
| Data sales | Off (we do not sell) |
| Behavioural advertising | Off (we do not run ads) |
These defaults are not nudgeable. We do not show prompts encouraging weaker privacy.
Family Tracking
Family Tracking is an optional, consent-based feature, off by default for everyone. Adults choose to share their location with chosen members of The Circle. Children's location sharing requires explicit, freely given consent from a parent or guardian and can be revoked at any time. Haevn does not show "live tracking" of children to anyone outside the household. Location data is never used for advertising or sold to third parties.
Carer Mode
Carer Mode allows household members to grant scoped access to trusted adults: grandparents, childminders, or someone helping care for a parent. Carers see the shared calendar, lists, meal plans, pets, family memories and safety details, and nothing else. These limits are enforced where the data lives, not just hidden on screen, and access is logged in an audit trail. Where Carer Mode is used to support an adult who lacks mental capacity, the lawful basis for processing must be documented under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 framework.
Tracking on the marketing site
haevn.co.uk uses Plausible Analytics on every page load: it is cookieless, EU-hosted and does not store IP addresses. Because it uses no cookies or personal identifiers, it runs by default and is not controlled by the consent banner. Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel are only loaded when you explicitly opt in via the granular consent banner. Both optional categories default to OFF and can be changed any time from "Cookie preferences" in the footer.
When opted in, Google Analytics 4 uses a Children's Code-tightened configuration. Marketing loads Meta Pixel, used to measure the effectiveness of Haevn's own paid acquisition. Limited Data Use is enabled for UK and EEA traffic, and Advanced Matching is disabled so we do not pass hashed personal identifiers.
The Haevn app itself uses minimal, product-only analytics. See the in-app privacy notice for app-side tracking. Full technical detail of every cookie set on this marketing site is in the Privacy Policy.
One exception: our hosting provider collects anonymous page performance data on every page load, including load speed, layout stability and responsiveness. This is first-party performance telemetry rather than behavioural profiling. It is not used for advertising, is not linked to your Haevn account, and is not sold or shared. It sits in the hosting layer rather than the app, so it is not controlled by the consent banner. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest in keeping the site fast and stable. We are asking our provider to bring this under the consent banner.
DPIA and ongoing review
Haevn has completed a Data Protection Impact Assessment covering the product as launched. The DPIA is reviewed before any new feature touching children's data, location, or family relationships. A summary is available on request to support@haevn.co.uk. The full DPIA is shared with the ICO if requested.
